About

Nick Sullivan is an Australian filmmaker working internationally across commercial campaigns, narrative and music.

His films balance rhythmic editing with an instinct for performance and place, capturing not just how things look but how they feel and sound. Nick’s sense of fun, spontaneity and movement is carried across his work.

Much of his inspiration traces back to his hometown of Newcastle, the people, the scenery, and the working class culture that shaped how he sees the world.

He began his career in broadcast television, spending years on location across South Africa, Amsterdam, Japan, Iceland and at home in Australia. This gave him a grounding in high-pressure, character-driven production that informs everything he directs today.

He has directed campaigns for Tourism Australia, Destination NSW, Doordash, Mastercard, Sony and Samsung and worked with artists including Tones and I, Sam Fender, Client Liaison, Vance Joy and Troye Sivan among others.

His work has screened at St Kilda Film Festival, SXSW Sydney, Melbourne Comedy Festival and the Berlin Fashion Film Festival. He was named in B&T's Top 10 Australian Directors.
